This is a picture of a young raccoon on the smoke shelf of a fireplace in Grand Blanc Michigan
The fireplace emitted an odor from the urine and raccoon feces in the chimney.
Baby Raccoons will live in the chimney for weeks while the Mother travels in and out freely.
A trap on top of the chimney will catch the mother raccoon and the baby raccoons can be removed by hand.
